This beautifully written mystery is spell-binding. I loved the novel’s slow reveal of one secret after another. The characters hold secrets and potentials that I wanted to explore more deeply. And the mystery of all mysteries, that keeps the story in motion, is alluringly eerie.

Under a Secret Sky

Is my husband a hero, or a traitor? A question JEAN VALE never expected to face in the golden California summer of 1952.
ROBERT VALE is a blueprint checker for Braden Enright, a young company designing the future. When he disappears, his wife Jean and their young son JIMMY, set out to find him. Jean’s no-nonsense grit plus Jimmy’s “I’m just a kid” innocence make them a unique, resourceful team. Threatened, then pursued by friends-turned-enemies, their search leads to a closed-off town in the Mojave desert. So surreal it feels like a mirage, Calcite is a scaled down suburb with no street addresses, telephones with no numbers.
